I took a little trip up to Brixton last week for a coffee and a chat with Julianna Barnaby and to see her fab new (permanent!) shop at Pop Brixton.
If you follow me on social media you will probably have seen that a selection of my travelcard wallets are now available there - so as well as having a nice chat, and having a nosey at the lovely new shop, I thought I'd better check on how they are!
Julianna has now run a series of pop ups, and I visited her at her popular store at Old Street Station last autumn (with the amazing concrete walls, it was fab, but huge!). In the run up to Christmas she had a couple of short stints at Pop Brixton and loved it so much she decided to make it permanent.
If you haven't been to Pop Brixton you must - it's a great venue with a lovely atmosphere (even at midday on a Thursday when it was pretty quiet) - small shops and some wonderful smelling food - I'm planning to take Mr M up there to eat the next time we go to the Brixton Academy.
A lot of work went in to making the shop look fab and it's really welcoming - lots to see without being crowded. Alongside my travelcard wallets you can buy lovely bits from Rosa & Clara, EH!, Mellybee, Block Design, Jen Rowland and lots lots more. If you're anything like me it's virtually impossible to come out without buying something (be warned!!).
If you can't make it to Brixton, you can also shop from Barnaby & Co's website, but you really should go in if you're in the area. The more I visit Brixton the more I grow to love it, and I really need to try and spend a little more time just wandering around (instead of dragging a massive suitcase to a market or heading straight to a gig).
You can see me at Crafty Fox Market at the Dogstar in Brixton on Saturday 28 May (so you could combine that with a wander and a trip to Barnaby & Co too. but I'll mostly be dragging that suitcase!).
