It'd been nearly 18 months since my last trip to Sleaford to visit the National Centre for Craft & Design (appalling I know!). I absolutely love it there. When I visited there were some great exhibitions on which kept us all entertained.
In the Roof Gallery there was Made in the East Midlands - a survey of craft and design from makers based in the region (which ended on 21 February).
Alongside this was an exhibition by Kathryn Parsons - Found in the Fields. A series of work in porcelain alongside found materials and photographs. This inspired the little man's nature walk then next day (he had to put everything in a jar!).
The main exhibition, Methods of Making (ended on 28 February) featured some truly beautiful contemporary furniture. They also had a 3D printer running and the little man got a bracelet which he saw being printed.
The National Centre for Craft & Design has some new exhibitions on now including contemporary Chinese jewellery, a review of makers from 2015's New Designers and an exhibition of local embroidery.
