Looking Back on 2016 - Part 2

Architecture, Business, Events, Photography, TravelKate Marsden

Some more personal highlights this time - rather than the most popular blog posts. Compiling these posts has helped me to realise that despite everything that's brought me down in 2016, I've actually had a pretty good year!

We've traveled a lot - certain this won't continue into 2017 as we have work to do on the house!

First up, Paris...

Then Provence and the Cote d'Azur (it was so hot... I'm so cold as I type this...).

Wonderful Barcelona...

New England in the Fall!

Good old NYC...

OK, maybe we do need to stay at home more next year (or this is a sign of my desire to escape Brexit Britain!!).

I led two brilliant photowalks in July and October (I'm planning more next year - join the photowalks mailing list here to get the date for the next one before I blog about it).

Despite my intentions to do fewer events, I did quite a lot! No less than 6 Crafty Fox Markets - Brixton x 3, The Geffrye Museum x 2 and Sheffield - plus 2 pop-ups at the wonderful West Elm on Tottenham Court Road and the ever fab Thread at Farnham Maltings. And relax...

My business grew significantly this year, although it is still very small. This has partly been helped by more press coverage - I particularly liked the fact that I made it into the local paper, and onto the radio!

I ran 2 workshops in 2016 - one with Barnaby & Co at Pop Brixton and the other at Love Art in Tooting - I'm planning more next year (and the first ones are open for bookings here).

Finally, no 2016 roundup would be complete without a picture of my favourite new building! So good, it almost made me cry - I love you new Tate Modern...

Thanks for being part of my 2016 adventures! I'll have one more post for you this Friday, then I'm taking my annual week off and will return on Monday 2 January.
