Wow, I've made it to the Knitting & Stitching Show 4 years in a row now - some kind of a record for me! I visited on the Thursday again this year and it is a lot calmer than Friday-Sunday (if still busy). I also went without a shopping list, which is very dangerous. When there are things I need I tend to buy them and then stop!

As always, I started off looking at the textile galleries, graduate work and the like. Unsurprisingly most people seemed to have congregated in one corner around Kate Jenkins's amazing installation of knitted fish and seafood. You really did have to see it to believe it. I can't imagine how long it took to make. She had various framed pieces available and greetings cards too.

Other things which really caught my eye in this hall included the Entwined Memories exhibition.

Also Helen Pailing's exhibition, Glass Stitch, which was fascinating.

Then on to the inevitable shopping...

I popped to see Louise Walker on her stand

before discovering Pompom Designs' contemporary needlepoint kits. I've been wanting to have a go at needlepoint for a while but have been struggling to find a small kit that I like, but they had them! Planning to write a post about my attempts at making it, so watch this space!

Then off to the Grand Hall to work my way across it aisle by aisle.

I bought some fabrics (surprise surprise) - here we have Eternal Maker's stand and beautiful Liberty Prints at Alice Caroline...

I might've purchased something (or two) from The Glass Pingle, but can't share as it's a present (shhh).

Spent quite a while at the Merchant and Mills stand - it looked fantastic and I fell madly in love with EVERYTHING.

It was then time to head off back into town. I wore my Gather Mortmain dress on the day and it got a lot of attention - with several people asking me where I'd got the pattern from (I do plan to write a post about this dress at some point!).

So I made quite a few purchases, but I think I was fairly restrained! Already looking forward to going again next year when hopefully my timing will be right to take part in a workshop or too as well as shop.
