Back in December I visited the Fashion & Textile Museum again, this time to see the exhibition Knitwear: Chanel to Westwood.
Despite not being the best knitter in the world, and having constant battles with the knitting machines when I was at college, my life long love of knitwear is as strong as ever. It was lovely to look at the displays which come mostly from the private collection of Mark and Cleo Butterfield. The collection includes a wide range of items covering a century worth of knitted fashions.
As ever, my favourites were the 1950's garments (and I know it's not knitted but I adore the skirt in the centre of the image below!), but there were lots of lovely things to see, whatever your knitting (and crochet) related tastes may be.
The exhibition runs until this Sunday, 18 January at the Fashion & Textile Museum in London.
