I had a total of 5 hours last Thursday for my first trip to Clerkenwell Design Week. 2014 was the 5th year of CDW and I was impressed by the size of the event. Next year I intend to visit twice as I missed several interesting sounding talks and events on the previous two days. Anyway, here are my brief highlights of Thursday....
Installations by Foscarini and Johnson Tiles at the Design Factory
Another shot of the Johnson Tiles installation together with some other images from the Design Factory. The Turkish Ceramics Tile Mile at St John's Gate and chairs by Edra which with displayed in the crypt of The Order of St John.
A couple of my favourite stands from Additions at The Crypt on the Green - Rose Sharp Jones (whose work I also saw at the Knitting & Stitching Show last year) and Archie Mac.
I also attended a really good talk on Antron Global Colour Trends for 2014/15 at Desso on Great Sutton Street, and visited Milliken on Berry Street for an upholstery demonstration from Out of the Dark.
It really was a whistlestop visit and I missed a lot - so better planning needed next year! You can see more (and in due course find the details for next year's event) on the Clerkenwell Design Week website, and follow them on twitter.
