Orso Major Gallery

Welcome to the first of two posts introducing you to my new blog sponsor Orso Major Gallery.

Orso Major is a contemporary art gallery located on Lower Marsh, a great little street full of interesting independent shops, which is just around the corner from London's Waterloo Station.   The gallery's May Group Show has just opened this week, and the images shown here represent just a few of my favourite pieces. Click on the artists' names below for more information about their work.

Linocut prints above by Janet Brooke - the pieces on display include new additions to her series of Wren Churches of London.
Images of work from Kimm Stevens (left) and Adrian Bannister (right).
Beautiful collages by Adam Taylor Smith.
Some dapper gents from Kerry Eggleton

Embroidered photography by Riccardo Ajossa and more pieces by Janet Brooke (I particularly like the image of the flyover).

Gita Joshi (above), Director of the Gallery, has an art history background and trained in curating at Central St Martins. She opened Orso Major at 19 Lower Marsh, SE1 in December 2013 as a pop up gallery and it will be on this site for another couple of months.  The gallery has a focus on works in mixed media and process-led works. The aim is to bring affordable and collectable art by mid career artists to new audiences.  The gallery's current exhibition runs until the end of May. Watch this space for a second feature with a glimpse of some of the other, smaller pieces available from Orso Major. Interested in sponsoring my blog and being featured here?
