I've been aware of the Twitter Art Exhibit project for the last couple of years, but this is the first time I've decided to submit a piece. The project aims to use social media and public engagement to raise funds for charities and not for profit organisations. They do this by selling postcard sized pieces of art which are submitted to them from artists across the world.
This year's exhibition is behind held in Orlando, Florida and you can find out more about it here (as well as viewing images of the work which has been submitted). All postcards will be sold at an affordable flat price, so I'm sure there will be some bargains to be had!
So, here is my piece:
A mixed media piece featuring acrylics and collage - a summery version of my Park Hill pattern! Here's a work in progress shot (it nearly included magnolias - I might need to use those somewhere else).
If you're interested in getting involved in the project, submissions must be received by 21 February (so unless you're in the US you'll need to get your skates on!). Alternatively, if you're just interested in looking at and sharing the art which has been submitted, follow #twitterartexhibit on Twitter.
p.s. My piece arrived in Orlando yesterday - you can now view it on their website here.
