I've had a week off this week and have finally managed to finish the so called Quilt of Doom!
Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while will be familiar with this little project of mine. The quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted and I've been working on it since last August. I've had to take a few breaks from it as more important things have taken over, but nevertheless it's been a labour of love.
The front is made entirely from solids, whereas the back is a mixture of an old off cut of a bright blue fabric alongside some Lotta Jansdotta and Summersville. The binding is Liberty print. I almost like the back better than the front!
I'm not going to claim that it's perfect but as my first attempt at quilting I'm pretty pleased. I now have lots of ideas for more ambitious projects (using a sewing machine this time I think), I just need to find the time to work on them....
