Knitting a Scarf in August

I woke up on Friday morning and realised that I needed to knit myself a new scarf (it was a little chilly after all).
I decided pretty quickly that I wanted something green and chunky, so I took myself off to the local yarn shop and in no time at all I got started:

The yarn I chose was Rowan Big Wool and I really enjoyed knitting with it.

I started it on Friday afternoon and finished first thing on Saturday morning.  Here I am modelling the finished article:

I'm rather pleased.  I think it'l look good with my smart winter coat and my leather jacket.
I thought about writing a little pattern for you in case you'd like to make one yourselves, but there's really little point as it was so easy.  I cast on 24 stitches onto size 12 needles and just kept going with stocking stitch until I ran out of wool (I used 3 balls).
It was so easy and so much fun that I suspect some people will be getting these for Christmas!
